July 6

Tour of the island of Kos

The first stop is a guided walking tour around the Old City, seeing the Castle of Neratzia, the Governor’s House at Kos, Agora – the Port of Kos, the Orpheus Theatre, the Altar of Dionysus, the Roman Villa and Roman Odeon, and the Church of St John Prodromos.

Then we shall drive to the archaeological site of Asclepeion.

Finally, we shall visit the resort of Tingaki, with its sandy beach, tavernas and cafes. There we'll also have a swim.

Pick up from Neptune Hotel is at 10:30

The cost of the ticket will be announced on site as soon as we know the exact number of participants. The preliminary estimate is that it will be around €30 per participant.

 

July 7

Day trip to Kalimnos:

the island of sponge divers

We shall start in Pothia and then move on to Chora and up to the castle.

The tour continues on to the church of Christ of Jerusalem, where we can admire the ionic-style Temple of Delian Apollon, which is constructed entirely of marble.

We shall make quick stops at the villages of Elies and Kamari, where we will see spectacular views of the neighbouring island of Telendos, the island of the sleeping princess. After that we will go to Massouri and Myrties.

We will stop at the famous church of Saint Savva and then spend some time at the traditional secluded beach of Vlichadia for lunch and a swim.

10.30 - transfer from Neptune to Mastihari Harbour.

18.50 - transfer from Mastihari Harbour to Neptune.
