An Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) based community was designed, operated, and evaluated, to support student teachers during their practical work (practicum) in the department of Education in the University of the Aegean. A Web 2.0 social network was used as collaborative non-formal learning space among educators and students that worked on open and closed activities. The research framework was based on: (a) the exploration of reflection levels and perceptions of professional identity of student teachers during practicum, through their participation in an online community setting; and (b) on evaluating the impact of Web 2.0 spaces on teachers’ practicum during an academic semester. In this paper, we discuss the research settings and the processes and present some preliminary results.
